I'm Delaram Balouchi, PhD, a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) in California. At Heartfelt Flourish, I provide psychotherapy to adults and couples in English and Persian (Farsi) under licensed clinical supervision.
With more than 15 years of experience in clinical practice, university teaching, and professional training in Iran, along with graduate education and clinical training in the United States, I bring a thoughtful and culturally sensitive perspective to my work.
My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where individuals and couples can explore their experiences, better understand themselves, and develop healthier relationships.

I believe that understanding ourselves is an essential part of building meaningful and fulfilling relationships. Many of the emotional struggles we experience are connected to patterns developed through our early relationships and life experiences.
My passion is helping adults and couples recognize these patterns, explore their emotional needs, and develop healthier ways of connecting with themselves and others.
Through a compassionate and collaborative therapeutic process, I support clients in gaining greater self-awareness, navigating relationship challenges, and creating meaningful changes in their lives.
My professional journey spans more than 15 years of clinical practice, university teaching, and professional training in Iran, complemented by advanced education and clinical training in the United States.
Having worked across different cultural and educational environments, I understand how cultural backgrounds, family expectations, and personal experiences can influence emotional well-being and relationships.
As a bilingual therapist providing services in English and Persian (Farsi), I strive to create a welcoming environment where clients can explore their experiences in the language they feel most comfortable using.
My background as the founder and director of Shadzi Counseling Center, a university instructor, and a supervisor of Schema Therapy practitioners has also shaped my ability to approach emotional and relational challenges with curiosity, empathy, and clinical insight.
My primary therapeutic orientation is Schema Therapy, an integrative approach that explores how early life experiences, unmet emotional needs, and longstanding patterns influence our thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships.
Through this approach, I help clients identify recurring emotional and relational patterns, understand their origins, and explore healthier ways of responding to themselves and others.
I believe that meaningful therapeutic change begins with self-awareness, emotional understanding, and a compassionate exploration of our experiences.
I am also completing training in Awareness Integration Theory (AIT) to further expand my therapeutic knowledge and skills.
My approach is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative, allowing each client's individual experiences, needs, and goals to guide the therapeutic process.
